Job Summary



Plans and directs accounting activities by -, personally or through subordinate supervisors. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records.

Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and accounting.
Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
Directs and participates in cost analyses and rate studies.
Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting procedures and controls.
Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures.
Communicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the public. Performs Accounting Clerk and Bookkeeper duties
Qualifications: BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; MA/MS Degree preferred
* 10+ years of accounting experience
* 7+ years of managerial experience in accounting
* Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) and JDE
* Must be fluent in English; Spanish or French fluency a plus
